I am such a slacker this year. I still haven't filed my taxes. I have to go to an accountant so that is slowing me down. Self employment is confusing! I tried on my own, got too stumped so now I am seeking out a professional!

I've narrowed my 2010 swimsuit choices down to these two.
My confidence in normal clothes is healthy, my confidence while a third of the way clothed, is um, bad. haha I have never been a beach bunny. Not for lack of beaches, I live on Lake Huron, so beaches are plenty here, but um, I have never gotten used to the almost bare feel that bikinis give ya. I'm planning on being brave this year though! We're vacationing in South Carolina in May and I might just don a bathing suit. No, I'm not fat, no, I have no reason to be afraid to put one on. {shrugs} Anyway, I need a new one~

Trying to photograph this little baggage has been a little bothersom. This, so far, is the best I can get. I still don't care for the pictures, but alas, I can't seem to get anything better.
It's made from recycled wool sweaters, cut in a stupid amount of circles and individually strung onto wool yarn. Measures about 5 feet.

I have become addicted to the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. The fifth and last book comes out in December or 2010. I could scream... {take a deep breath} I can do this! My questions can wait... 10 months... right? O.M.G. It's one of the most interesting fiction/mystery/love stories ever. Yes... it is a love story, just not a typical one. The relationship develops a little more like a real one. :) It will make the last darn book special.
Anyway, it's the wee hours of the morning and well, I am getting pretty tired! Time to flip on the fan and snuggle down into my comfy bed. Until next time, xoxo.

I'm not usually into jewelry, but lately bracelets specifically have been catching my eye. I picked up a few and wear like the variety on my wrists. Miley Cyrus would be my inspiration for that. I have also taken up the whole rocker thing. Like black... studs... rhinestones.. More of a 'pretty' rocker look if such a thing exists. Anyway, I've been enjoying the new wardrobe experience. Stepping away from the usual frills of my style and going a little more... well, hardcore? haha Not in a tacky or gothic way! Ah whatever, too hard to describe.

I love Anthropologie.
Now this is a store that makes every single thing special. Right down to being on their mailing list! I got this in the mail and though the little candle did break, it was so charming and creative! Always a treat! The best part about these little surprises are that the quality is outstanding! It's like someone actually sat down and made each one by hand. Not joking. It's fantastic and well, everything from that store is charming and unique. That would be why it is my absolute favorite... followed closely by Macys. ;)

I am in need of a calendar and I am thinking of using some of my photos, getting them printed 11x17 or something and going about it that way. The pink type-writer photo was inspiration.
I am in a serious "buy things for home" mood lately. I have been picking up some of the best retro stuff lately. I am also trying to find a nice comforter for my bed because my down one is too darn warm and I can't stand using it lately! Anthropologie has some nice blankets that are very soft. I also found some at Macys. So we'll see! I'm going to shop around for a bit.
Anyway, just felt like throwing out a few pictures that have been fun inspiration for me.

For starters, I want to make a little crown like this for photoshoots. I have some ideas and this would go fantastic!

Anyway...

A little over a week until January 22nd. Which means a little over a week until I turn 23. Yep, my birthday is next Friday. It will be a lovely day. We plan on going to get some coffee that has a high fat content and we're going to see a non-3D version of Avatar in Birmingham and maybe do some shopping. I have been wanting to see Avatar BUT I can't do that glasses thing. Those dumb things are bearers of headaches and darn it I want to enjoy that movie! The only theater, well, good theater that has a regular one is over an hour away so we're going to hit that up next weekend. I'm looking forward to a little escape from this po-dunk town I call home for the moment.

Ah lets see... Lots of things in my world are changing and will continue to change. Certain things could bring BIG changes. I wont really get into it right now because it is all still up in the air and so I'll just let you know when it's decided. Um, it's going to be something that requires more strength than I've probably every had to deal with. It does involve employment for my hubby that will take him away from me for probably 4 months at least. So pray for us there. Like I said, I don't want to go into details because right now we're still thinking about it. Well, he is more so than me. I am just trying to be supportive.

What else has been going on? Ohhh well, I have been working on my book, being creative and working on something I was going to throw on etsy and see how it does. Lots of things like that. Alright speaking of my projects I need to get back to them. I'm forcing myself to prioritize. I'm learning... haha

Of course this is Martha Stewart. I thought it was adorable and make-able. Once I clear my plate a little I plan on sitting down and experimenting. I have been really all about making home stuff. Even though I am still in between living locations, one day my life will be back to normal and I will need a homey touch. I have been picking things up here and there. Retro things that I have been so excited about! I actually should photograph them and stick them on here.

My current project at the moment is Garlands. I have made a few and they're getting better the more I make! I will post pictures when I have them. I'm trying to decide on a basic color pallet for them that way they all can 'go together' if necessary! I have three of my own and I love them! They give a very anthropologie feel, they're made with recycled wool.
Anyway, that is all for today my friends. I have work to do!

I have to say, sometimes I feel like I'm standing off to the side of the stage where my own life is supposed to take place, waiting in the wings, waiting for someone to give me a cue that it was time to step on that stage and do whatever I was meant to do. Life right now for me... seems to just be waiting to happen. I know, you have to 'make' it happen, but gosh that feels impossible. I feel like for every step forward I take, I really end up taking two steps back. I can't go forward and it's stressing me out. I am so ready for things to just go. I'm tired of being in this limbo, playing some stupid waiting game. Right now in all honesty, I have no control over my life. None. I just pray for miracles now. That's what it's going to take... a big.fat.miracle. It'll happen, just a matter of time. I have to be positive about this otherwise I will be miserable and I don't want that. I'm trying to make the most of my situation and I'm praying that someday I can look back on these days with a smile at the trials we've overcome.

I put up my little 4' tree today. My fingers were covered in the florist gold spray stuff. (It's what I used to give it a worn, old look) It turned out pretty well! I am making a garland for it. I got a little ways then my sewing machine ran out of thread and I had sewed so many circles I was going to scream, so I am on a break right now.

Ok, so I have been a little not in the mood for Christmas this year (decorating and shopping)... same with my family and since they're being down right negative about it I might just spend Christmas out of town. Just me and Danny. We're thinking about Chicago. It's a short drive and affordable. We'll see. I'm kind of up for an adventure and if my entire family is going to be so downright miserable this Christmas then I will spend it elseware. I may not be in the real Christmas-y mood this year, but I don't want to completely trash it and be miserable about it. I'm just not in the mood to 'deck the halls' so to speak. Everything else I was looking forward to. Spending the day with the family and making dinner and just enjoying the company. Aparently that is too much to ask for, they want to be miserable. I'm kind of livid right now. I am looking forward to the day we have our own house and can have a big, HUGE family Christmas. Where everyone dresses up nice and comes for dinner and relaxing and catching up. Those events of the day don't need to be a drag and I am just frustrated. I want to get away. See? Now isn't Christmas supposed to do the opposite? Who cares about gifts, I just wanted the company. Arg. Sorry, just voicing my opinions. There is still time, I guess... they could cheer up about it.

I am so tired tonight. I don't want to do anything. Shocker: I don't want to read. Now that doesn't even take hardly any energy but nope, I just want to put on my pajamas and crawl into bed. Maybe listen to some soft music.
I have spent most of the day working on my book and doing character sketches. Those are quite helpful I must admit. I have one of the characters done and now I'm working on the other main character. A character sketch it basically just a survey so to speak of the character. Name, Age, Height, Eye color... achievements. You kind of have to make the characters real people with real everything. Favorite food etc. Helps I will admit! It makes writing easier that is for sure.
Ok, I just don't have much to update or ramble about. Hard to believe, but it's true. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. The hubby and I are trying to get in the holiday spirit so we're going to go out tomorrow morning, get breakfast and go on a weekend adventure. Nice huh? I think so.

Ah thank God it's Friday. I have to admit, since the time change the days have slowed down a bit. Most of the time that is ok, some days, or moments during the days actually, I would rather they go a little quicker. Like right now for instance. The hubby and I would like to escape the house, but he's not done working until five, and today I decided to take a hiatus from writing. I keep creating work for myself with this story. I'll have it going one way and then I was on my way to the library thinking it over in my head, trying to come up with more details and things and then decided to change up a good amount of it all together. So if I could ever stop going through it and adding things to the beginning I might actually feel like I'm really getting somewhere. It's all over the place and as soons as this things gets past 100 pages I am going to have a very hard time editing it! AH! I have about 50 pages right now and have to add so much to the middle of those fifty pages I'm actually getting stressed just thinking about it! It could be worse, I know... at least I'm not experiencing writers block. Just the opposite actually and my mind needs to chill a bit because I have already started thinking of another story! I keep buying notebooks to put my ideas into. I've gone through two so far. {sigh} Yeah. It's a long process but it's the first time in years I have felt like I'm doing something I truly want to do. I love it, I love working out the process of the story in my head and creating a plot, and developing characters. It still has a ways to go but gosh, it just feels great to do something I love. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be bold enough to try to get it published. It would be quite a reward to see my book in Barnes and Noble. Ya never know! It could happen. :) I wont stop until it does.
For the first time, I know what I want.

Ok, so if the weather is good tomorrow I have some photography to take care of. I need to actually photograph my stationary things so people can see the way it prints out onto the lovely shimmery paper, also with the envelopes. I also wanted to do a photoshoot with my hubby and I to send off to parents for Christmas. I have a book to read and I know once I start, I wont be putting it down until the last page has been read. I have a problem; I won't deny it.
Danny and I are still waiting to hear on the few job possibilities that have presented themselves. Right now he has been working for Jalopnik part time, it pays the bills.
We have the unexpected horror of having to start paying back a too large sum of his student loans which has put a bit of a damper on things, but really, in all honesty it could be worse. A lot worse. Let's see.... what else is going on... A whole lot of nothing! I am getting a couple things ready to throw on my etsy. Nothing too crazy, it's my own fault, I have no idea how to promote my stuff. One of these days I'm sure I'll figure it out. Today however, is not that day. I am out- hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

The color wont print so blue. I print my stuff on very thick, slightly shimmery cardstock and so it dumbs down the bold colors. This will print a more soft, vintage blue.

Illuminations of the Heart

Ok, so I know the title sounds a little corny. I'm a little concerned, but this book has got good reviews and is apparently clean romance. haha Good to know.
The book is called
"Illuminations of the Heart"
It is a historical setting of like the year 1200. So it is Renaissance period and I think during that time an illuminist is like an artist of some kind? Anyway, it is a historical romance novel that isn't raunchy so I'm curious. I'll keep you posted. I had to order the book on Barnes and Noble's website because once again it was one that no one seemed to carry in the store. The library of course didn't have it either. Lucky me huh? haha I know nothing can compare to my Bronze Horseman, but I'm open for some new characters. I can find inspiration anywhere too so the more books I can read the better. I'm open to this one. Everywhere I look it has gotten a lot of rave reviews.

I kind of feel like a zombie, but is it my fault that my mind just runs wild at night?
Usually yes, that would be a bad thing, but when you're writing a book, it's smart to suck it up and stay awake. Write until you have nothing more to say and then crash hard and wake up four hours later and do it again. I have been so busy and so engulfed in my own little world, literally, it's been so great! I do wish more ideas came to me at noon though instead of the wee hours of the morning. I have been waking up in the middle of the night thinking about details, descriptions and of course if you don't write them down you will forget. I am a little zoned right now. I kind of want to bail on anything in my head, hope to God it comes back to me tomorrow and just close my eyes and escape into a dream world. A peaceful dreamworld that requires my head to be snuggled into my fluffy pillow.

Hope everyone has a lovely, very, very, lovely Thursday. I have been loving Michigan's weather lately! We have the best fall season. It's perfect. Remember this post because in about 60 days I will be heavily cursing this bloody state. It's just the way it is.

I don't want to think about that now.

It's quiet in my room tonight. I love it. Dark. Peaceful. I have my window open a bit and I can hear the wind blowing through the trees. I love that sound! I love fall.
I think tonight I might actually be able to get to bed before 4am! I am thrilled. I need to get to the falling asleep thing right now though while I'm still tired. So I hope everyone has had a peaceful Tuesday.

I washed excedrin down with good 'ol Amp.... lots of caffeine but yet I am still stupidly tired. Maybe if I wasn't addicted to the stuff, (caffiene not excedrin) Amp's caffiene levels would actually help. But no- I have abused the substance and now nothing perks me up! Maybe I should accept my fate and crawl into bed.

I bought this new olive green eye shaddow at Target the other day and my gosh it makes my eye color pop! I took a break from writing and wanted to photograph it and then decided to get detailed with the photoshop process and I'd say the style of these pictures turned out great!
The photoshop class I took in college was well worth it's money. I work in that program almost every single day. Anyway- that's all for tonight.

Oh... Oh.... Don't worry- I will own them.
Very rarely do I fall head over heels (ha) for a material object but these... no doubt about it, I will own them.
These with a nice cropped pair of toothpick jeans. Oh yes... silk shirt with ruffled, a thin cardigan, belted at the waist and some chunky bracelets. Oh the outfit exists in my mind already. hahaha
I am slowly falling in love with platform shoes... ESPECIALLY when they're oxfords. Mmmm....

So Danny has been contacted about a product design job opportunity in Ann Arbor. Should be interesting. They design the Sobe products which is awesome. So who knows- we'll see how it all goes! I almost forgot that there are different ways of life out there! haha The pay is far better than what he made at Speedshape which is a huge perk. So yeah- keep us in prayer. I would of course love that he remain working from home, but who knows what will happen or where life will take us. I'm excited. Life is an adventure that is for sure. Sometimes it sucks, sometimes it's great.
Just wanted to toss this out there. Hope everyone has a great week...'end'. Since once again that is already here. Um, NEW MOON next month! How insane is that?!
Next week I plan on marching my butt to Borders and buying the New Moon Illustrated Companion. Oh yes- 81 new pictures so I hear. Worth every penny. ;)
